Relache premieres 'EVOLUTE' at UD Thursday
4:45 p.m., March 20, 2007--Contemporary music pioneers Relâche will
present the world premier of /EVOLUTE/ at 8 p.m., Thursday, March 22, in
the Gore Recital Hall of the Center for the Arts.
For a quarter century, Relâche has maintained an international
reputation as a leader in commissioning, presenting and performing
innovative music. It is among the oldest continuously operating,
nonprofit organizations and chamber ensembles dedicated to contemporary

/EVOLUTE/ was composed by Elliott Sharp, who is considered one of the
founders of New York's Downtown Scene and a pioneer in applying fractal
geometry, chaos theory and biological metaphors to musical composition.
Also on the program are Fred Frith's /shading my face it shall be you/,
Randall Woolf's avant-rock /My Insect Bride/ and John King's /Road Map/.
